Privacy Policy

Short version: Mad Cat processes your selected files on your device. It does not run advertising, tracking or analytics, and it does not upload your files to a Mad Cat server.

What Mad Cat accesses

Mad Cat accesses only files that you deliberately give it through Apple’s Share Sheet, a system file picker, drag and drop, or a WhatsApp “Export Chat” package you choose. Mad Cat cannot directly browse WhatsApp’s private iPhone storage and does not ask for your WhatsApp password, Apple Account password, contacts, photo library, microphone, camera or location.

Files and processing

The app copies chosen items into its private on-device container so you can select, organize, delete and package them. Master ZIP archives are created locally. If you select AirDrop, Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive or another provider, Apple’s system interface transfers the files directly to the destination you choose.

Data collection and sharing

The current Mad Cat app does not collect personal data, diagnostic data, usage data, identifiers or file contents on Mad Cat-operated servers. It contains no advertising SDK, analytics SDK or cross-app tracking. Mad Cat does not sell data. Destination providers you choose—such as Apple or Google—process files under their own terms and privacy policies.

Retention and deletion

Items remain in Mad Cat’s private local basket until you remove them or delete the app. Use Select → Remove to delete Mad Cat’s copies. Deleting Mad Cat removes its app container under Apple’s normal device behavior. Files already exported to another location must be deleted at that destination.

Security

Mad Cat uses Apple’s app sandbox, a private App Group shared only by the Mad Cat app and its Share Extension, system file pickers and system share sheets. No method can guarantee absolute security; keep your device passcode enabled and install operating-system updates.

Children

Mad Cat is a general utility and is not directed to children under 13. It does not knowingly collect children’s personal data.

Mad Cat is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by WhatsApp LLC, Meta Platforms, Inc., Apple Inc. or Google LLC. WhatsApp is a trademark of its respective owner.
